Ever wondered if those Morphe palettes are worth the hype? You know, those eye shadow palettes that NEVER seem to be in stock? Well ya gal has you covered because I FINALLY got my hands on not one but TWO eye shadow palettes!! Although there are soooo many different palettes to choose from on Beauty Bay and Cult Beauty, I've only ever had my eyes on the two I ended up buying.
This post will show swatches and close up pictures of the two palettes and I'll give a review on each and tell you whether or not I think they are worth the large hype that they have!
. . . .

So the two palettes I bought were the 35OM (the orange one) and the 35P (the purple one). The first thing I noticed was the size of the palettes and the actual pans themselves... they're huge!! Not that I was expecting them to be small because I have seen pics online but they're soooo much bigger than I thought and my other eye shadow palettes look miniature next to them!
The packaging is just your simple, generic plastic case which to be fair does look cheap and not sturdy at all but I wasn't expecting anything more since these palettes were bought for just £22 each, bargainnnnnnn.
The 35P Palette

Both matte and shimmer shades, this palette is to DIE for. For a girl who's go to makeup look is a bronze/orange smokey eye, I've really stepped out of my comfort zone here. I couldn't help but buy this palette because all of those purple and blue shades really did catch my eye and I'm looking forward to experimenting with it (even though I'm literally the worst at applying eye shadow lol).

Okay so I'm actually really impressed with how this palette swatched on my arm.
The shimmer shades felt so smooth and swatched amazingly, without me having to go back and forward to get a half decent pigmentation.
The matte shades on the other hand were a bit chalky/uneven and I did have to go over the original swatch a few times with most of the shades to get a decent pigmentation that the camera could catch. In saying this, I have used some matte brown shades from this palette on my eyes before and they did blend out beautifully and to be honest, it's probably best that you have to build them up a bit because there's nothing worse than when you're doing your eye shadow, pick up too much colour on your brush and it turns into a hot mess, which then leads to a mental breakdown and you texting your friends that you're not going out anymore... or maybe that's just me)
Was it worth the hype?
Such amazing shimmer shades and great value for money... yes!
Would I recommend this product? 100%. Can create tonnes of different looks and it's cheap in price so it's definitely affordable.
The 35OM Palette

I chose to buy this palette as I wanted all the shades to be matte. The 35O original palette has a mixture of both matte and shimmer shades but I wanted some of those shimmer shades in that palette to be matte so the 35OM was perfect for me! As I've mentioned above, I always go for the same eye shadow look; a brown/orangey/bronzey smokey eye so for me, this is the PERFECT palette.

Once again, the mattes were chalky and uneven and unfortunately for some shades, showed hardly any colour at all on camera! However as I've mentioned above, the lack in pigmentation doesn't bother me that much as it's probably best to build the colours up when applying them on your eyelids.
I understand how people expect extremely high and blinding pigmentation from eye shadows, but when a palette is £22 and you get so many large pans of shadows, you can't really complain can you? Don't get me wrong these shadows blend soooooo well and smoothly when on your eyes (I've used this palette before and I LOVE it), it was just trying to achieve really pigmented swatches that was proving difficult. Nonetheless, the 35OM is still an amazing palette with a massive variety of warm tone shades and is such a bargain!
Was it worth the hype? Considering this was the one that always sold out the minute it was live on every website, probably not.
Would I recommend this palette?
Definitely. Just like the 35P, its amazing value for money and soooo many shades to choose from!
My Overall Thoughts...
What I love about both of these palettes is that whether you're feeling a colourful, bold eye or a simple, natural look, each of these palettes can do both!
I think being able to build shadows up to get the look you want is very important, especially for newbies or amateurs like me so the lack in pigmentation in some shades really doesn't bother me because I know that they're buildable and blend very easily!
I don't have any regrets what so ever about buying these palettes and they are now my go-to palettes to use for both everyday and evening looks, however I was low key let down a bit because of the MASSIVE hype that the Morphe palettes have (especially these two). I know that these kind of products are made in batches and sometimes batches are ever so slightly different than others so my palettes might be a bit different from other peoples, however I'm still glad I bought them and are now part of my ever-growing makeup collection! Hope this helps you decide if you want to buy these particular palettes or not... thanks for reading! xoxo
